  • Understanding Your Governing Documents

    February 8, 2015
  • Reading and understanding these documents will help you to better understand what will be required of you as a home owner, and what is required of the HOA/governing body. If you become an owner in a development, you are agreeing to abide by all the rules, restrictions, terms and conditions found in the CC&Rs.
When purchasing a home in an HOA, you need to be familiar with what parts of your home, are the owners responsibility and what is considered “common areas”.

Understanding and knowing the rules and regulations is imperative when considering a purchase or renting in a development. Can you rent your unit (short/long term leases/subleasing), exterior decorations or furnishings allowed, window treatments allowed, pool hours, pet restrictions, parking, what is excessive noise and etc.
